Money Manager Ex 是一套用來記錄支出的工具程式。以前有想過用 spreadsheet 之類的方式去記錄，去統計自己的支出。可是實在是太麻煩，也找不到 template 而放棄。說到理財的軟件，最知名的是 Quicken 和 MS Money 吧？可是我又沒有持有那麼多財產值得花費去買它們，而且很有可能功能太強而不懂得如何正確使用(當時沒有 free trial)。念頭一轉，難度沒有免費的會計軟件嗎？就 google 了幾隻 OpenSource 的。我找到了幾隻 Open Source 的軟件來試，GNU 那個我不太會用，而且在 windows 上運行有一點問題。最後在放棄之前，給我找到了 Money Manager Ex。 在小試了一下之後，發現它的介面很簡單，而我想要的功能其實也只不過很簡單。我已經用了它幾個月了。就是記錄收入和支出，以便統計花了錢用來做甚麼，為幾種經常的支出建立預算。

雖然功能上的確有一點小問題，幸好這軟件還是在成長期－開發者一直有在更新，相信明天會更好。 這是另一位有心人寫的一段簡單的 Money Manager Ex 的使用教學，難然他寫的舊版本，但用法大都差不多。 軟件的使用簡單得很，倒是要自己記下花了錢在甚麼地方，和每晚記著要輸入記錄就比較難了。
